The primary and overarching objective of the United Nations Development Programme in Kosovo is the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development, including the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals, and promotion of United Nations fundamental principles.

On August 2020, The UNDP Kosovo, with an aim of strengthening civil society and citizens’ role in the fight against corruption, has foreseen in its Support to Anti-Corruption Efforts (SAEK III) project a close cooperation with the Rule of Law Advisory Group (RoLAG), as a responsible party, in order to enhance further the role of citizens in transparency and accountability of public institutions.

In a nutshell, the role of the ROLAG will be to work with the SAEK project to establish an Anti-corruption and Assets Recovery Policy Support Service and to support the establishment of the Asset Recovery Unit to the Prosecution Office and support the Basel Institute on Governance in its efforts to establish and increase to capacities for specialized assets recovery. Furthermore, the role of the ROLAG will be to monitor the corruption cases in Kosovo courts in the implementation of the corruption-specific sentencing guidelines. The implementation Period of this project is 19 August 2020 to 30 June 2024.
